Selected Prairie Grove storm records
Read selected local and nearby 2024 reports with their exact locations, units and times. Then keep the weather record separate from the condition of an individual roof.
The recorded event and the roof in front of us
A dated storm record can help place a roof concern in time. It can also be misunderstood if a report from a nearby town becomes a claim about every Prairie Grove property, or if a wind speed is confused with hail size.
This reference selects verified August and October 2024 entries from the National Weather Service Tulsa monthly reports. It is not a complete storm history or a property damage search. Each entry keeps its location and measurement beside the event so the limits remain visible.

Reading the Prairie Grove storm records
- Selected reports, not a complete event inventory
The NWS Tulsa monthly archive labels these reports preliminary, unofficial and uncertified. They provide useful recorded context; certified data and property-specific findings are separate matters.
- CST in the record, CDT on the local clock
The selected reports print Central Standard Time. Arkansas was observing Central Daylight Time on these dates, so the local clock was one hour later. The October event crosses midnight when converted; the August entries stay on August 18.
- Location and unit stay together
A reported hail diameter is in inches. A thunderstorm wind entry in knots is a wind value, with its measured or estimated status. Nearby Farmington and Fayetteville rows are not measurements taken at a Prairie Grove roof.
Selected local and nearby storm reports
August entries are from the August 2024 report (pages 2–3). The tornado entry is from the October report linked below. Values are preserved in their reported units.
What a storm record tells us about a roof
A storm report establishes what was recorded at a particular place and time. It does not inspect the roof you are responsible for.
- Useful timing context
If a new symptom followed one of these events, the date can help organize the roof history. A delayed discovery or earlier leak still needs its own explanation.
- Actual roof findings
The storm damage service looks at displaced material, failed details and suspected impact damage. The condition and repair compatibility establish the physical work.
- Separate claim evidence
The insurer evaluates coverage under the actual policy. Weather context does not guarantee a covered loss or replacement payment. The roof insurance guide explains that distinction.
Prairie Grove storm history FAQs
Does a nearby storm report establish damage at my address?
No. A nearby report gives context at its recorded location. Roof damage and its extent need assessment at the property; conditions can vary within the area.
Why can a storm report date differ from the local date people remember?
These selected records use CST while the local clock was on CDT. Adding one hour moves the October 30 late-night entry into the early hours of October 31 locally.
Does the absence of a report prove that my roof was not damaged?
No. These selected reports are not an exhaustive record of every impact at every address. Absence from this list does not establish the condition of a roof.
The next step is the roof at your address.
If you noticed a change after a storm, describe it and request a free inspection. The roofing recommendation needs the actual property condition.
